Don was born in Cleveland, Ohio. He graduated from Lake Catholic H.S. then went on to obtain his AA-Arts at Lakeland Community College, BS-Accounting and MBA-Finance from Cleveland State University. He worked at a local accounting firm as well as a large national accounting firm prior to establishing Don Miskinis, CPA. Don has 38 years of experience as a CPA servicing clients in a variety of business endeavors.

In addition to owning his own CPA practice, Don taught upper level accounting and finance classes (Intermediate Accounting I & II, Cost Accounting, Managerial Finance) at Lakeland Community College and Kent State University. He ended his 32 year teaching career in 2019.

Don held his Series 7 stock brokerage license for 13 years until the requirements came into conflict with his CPA practice. Also, Don has 8 years experience as a court appointed receiver and has spent hundreds of hours testifying in receiver related court cases.

In Don’s personal life, he is married to Amy (Boone), Service Line Administrator-Metro Hospital, Cuyahoga County . He has 2 children, Donnie (2021 inductee into the WABDL World Power Lifting Hall of Fame), Ali (2021 inductee into the WABDL World Power Lifting Hall of Fame), step-son JJ Boone (Marine veteran), Alex Boone (10 year NFL career) and step-daughter Julie Sulzer (World Power Lifting record holder).

When not engaged as managing partner of Cornerstone Legacy Financial Advisors, Don can be found on the softball field or in the gym. He was elected into the WABDL World Power Lifting Hall of Fame in 2017. He has 6 career world championships and holds a world record for dead-lift and bench press.
